- Please do NOT bring pets with you to camp, as they are not permitted on our site.
- Please do NOT arrive early! We are not able to check in campers before this time.
- Please DO keep medications handy, as you will have to turn those in at check-in. This includes any and all prescriptions, topical creams, ointments, vitamins, etc. If it is an over-the-counter medication, consider leaving it at home to avoid the medication check-in line! Or donate it to our infirmary!
Spot the (Mail) Box! Turn onto Alturas Creek Rd, proceed 1.5 miles, and turn right onto the dirt road after the sign for Camp Perkins Organizational Camp.
Steps to Check In
1. Greeter and Screener: Look for the Camp Perkins staff greeting you! Here your camper will receive:
- Nametag
- Cabin # and Counselor name
- Check-In Flyer (download the PDF!) containing how to connect with camp during the week, how to find photos, and info about devotions and what campers will be learning during the week.

2. Park your car. If you have any meds, including any medications, vitamins, or topical creams, bring them with you to the Health Care Check-In table. Please leave your luggage in your car until you have checked in.
Follow the Check-In sign to the stations.

3. Health Screening: Each person will be asked health screening questions related to fevers, cough, and known exposure to a positive case of COVID. Please do not come to camp if you are sick (fever, dry cough, vomiting within the last 24-48 hours).
4. Photo Op or Bypass a Stop: You can upload a photo of your child through your registration portal. Save even more time during check-in and ensure accurate identification for the Health Care Volunteer by uploading a photo before arrival. Please use a close-up of your child's face in which your child's face is clearly visible and facing the camera. Otherwise, we will take a photo of your camper at check-in at the photo station. This allows us to verify who they are for any medical treatment. Also, the new system for ordering camp photos uses facial recognition and will scan photos from the week to find photos of your child for you!
5. Head Check: Each camper will be screened for lice. Campers must have their hair completely out of any hair ties or braids for the screening. We recommend that you check for lice prior to coming to camp, especially if you know you've had an exposure to lice recently. Here is link to a video to watch for techniques to check for lice. If lice is discovered, you can choose to take your camper home for treatment, or we can treat them for $50.

6. Health Care
No Meds: Go to Step 7! You can get into the quicker "no meds" process by leaving your over-the-counter meds at home. We have them! OR... better yet, drop them off at check-in as a donation for all. There will be multiple tables, so please follow staff directions.
Meds Line: If you do bring medications, vitamins, or topical creams, including over the counter medications, they must be in their original packaging. If you are not sure if something should be checked in, please bring it to the Health Care table or leave it at home. The Health Care Volunteer or assistant will review the camper’s health form.

7. Food Allergies: Swing by the kitchen on your way to the cabin and introduce your camper to our cook. It is helpful to put a face to the name and to ask any clarifying questions about your child’s dietary needs.
8. Cabin: After you have gone through the check-in stations, you will return to your vehicle, retrieve the camper's belongings, and head to their cabin. Please do be patient, as we will be limiting the number of family members in the cabin at one time. There will be volunteers to help you transport luggage. At your cabin, campers will be able to select their bed and meet the cabin counselor. Parents and Guardians must check in their campers with the counselor. Here is a map of Camp Perkins so you can navigate your way around the camp!
9. Trading Post: After you have visited your camper’s cabin, visit the Trading Post and pick up your summer theme t-shirt. If you did not register and select your child's t-shirt size before May 15, we cannot guarantee your preferred size will be available. You are also welcome to visit the Trading Post to buy Camp Perkins souvenirs, apparel, tees for the tie-dying activity, cold drinks, or snacks.
If your child brings their own snacks for the week, drop them off at the Trading Post so they can be labeled and set aside.
