Adult & Family Retreats

Retreats of all kinds offer spiritual, physical, and mental renewal as you spend time in a place free of your daily responsibilities. Jesus shows us on several occasions the importance of setting aside time for yourself and your relationship with God and others. The individual benefits of a retreat can include quiet time of peace and personal study, the chance to spend extra time enjoying a hobby, or even the opportunity to make new friends.

Unless otherwise noted, retreats start after dinner on Friday and end before lunch on the last day.

SpeakerS 2026: Becky Oswald & Kerry Bauer
Picture
Becky Oswald is a Thanatologist (someone who studies death and its impact on society, psychology, and medicine) with a passion for teaching and equipping people in understanding and acceptance of death and grief in our complex and diverse world. Holding a BA in Christian Education and an MS in Thanatology, she is also a widow, a wife, and a mother of three. She spent four summers working at Camp Perkins in the late 90s, and it will always be a special place to her.

Kerry Bauer has served as the Worship and Music Minister at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aloha, OR, for over 15 years. You will find her at her happy place behind a piano playing and singing to Jesus. Add others to the mix, and there is just about no other place she would rather be! Kerry, her husband Ben, and their four children love to spend time together playing pinochle, singing to musicals, and spending time in God's glorious creation.
theme: Companioning: Walking Alongside One Another in Times of Grief
Grief can be an uncomfortable topic, yet it touches each one of us. "Companioning: Walking Alongside One Another in Times of Grief" is an intentional women's weekend focused on learning how to come alongside each other in times of grief - gaining practical skills and knowledge to know how best to support those we love. Becky Oswald, a Death and Grief Educator, will lead the group through the 11 Tenets of Companioning, as coined by Dr. Alan Wolfelt, and the Biblical components of each tenet. Get ready for a weekend of learning, growing closer in Christian love for one another, and participating in incredible times of worship led by Kerry Bauer.
