Operations Director - Year-round Full-time staff
The Camp Perkins Operations Director, working in coordination with the Executive Director and full-time staff, provides leadership for the day-to-day operations of Camp Perkins. This position helps ensure that programs, guest services, facilities, food service, staffing systems, administrative workflows, and risk management practices are coordinated and functioning well together.
The Operations Director is instrumental in supporting clear systems, healthy accountability, strong staff coordination, and a high-quality experience for campers, guests, retreat groups, volunteers, and staff.
A successful candidate must be flexible/adaptable, a team player, a strong communicator, a problem-solver, and someone who can lead with both warmth and clarity. This role requires someone who can hold details, support people, make decisions, and help a small ministry team work together well.
The Operations Director is part of the year-round leadership team and works closely with the Executive Director, Development Director, Program & Hospitality Manager, Maintenance Manager, Food Service Manager, and administrative staff. This position supervises several operational roles and helps translate the mission and strategic priorities of Camp Perkins into strong daily execution.
Camp Perkins is located 46 miles from the nearest town in the beautiful, but rugged Sawtooth Mountains, which are generally covered with 3-5 feet of snow from December through early April or May. Though this can be an incredibly beautiful environment in which to work and recreate, it can also be an isolating environment at times. Most interaction will be with a small team on-site, with guest and retreat groups joining the community on many weekends.
This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits, including medical, disability, and retirement. On-site housing is provided. Pets are not allowed without the prior approval of the Executive Director. This is a 12-month role, and the normal work rhythm includes weekend responsibilities during high-use seasons.
